Subject: Korah MATTICE, William Mattice, Corliss, LEWIS.

From: Maldemere <[email protected]>
I am researching the MATTICE line in my family. I have a Korah MATTICE b.
8/13/1885 in Michigan and died 1956? in West Pam Beach, FL. He m. Nina May
Corliss 9/13/1905 in Michigan. I don't have a divorce date but Korah moved to
FL & remarried. Korah's father was a William Mattice, born in Canada.
According to the 1900 US Census for Missaukee County, MI William MATTICE was
born in Canada, Dutt in June 1839. He was a widower and had come to the US in
1880. I assume Dutt is Dutton, Ontario, Canada. I have other maternal
ancestors with the CORLISS and LEWIS names from Dutton.
Is any of this familar?
Thanks,
Mike

Hi,
I am looking for a Catherine CHRYSLER who married a MATTICE in 1924 or so
in or around Little Falls NY in Montgomery-Herkimer Cc, NY. I have checked
your web site and know that she isnot there but thought yu might have some
other suggestions for me . Her father was Alonzo CHRYSLER and her mother
was Mable Ann Wilson from Buffalo NY in Niagra Co. Her father died in 1918
and her mother remarried a Herbert BAXTER so the last name for Catherine
might be BAXTER. Any ideas you might have would be welcome.
Great web page!

excuse any errors in the spelling of names!) My father's dad's name was
Frederick Charles Mattice.
Thanks.

Greetings. My grandmother was Ellen Brownell Mattice and her name came
up in a conversation today. So I decided to check on the internet for
Mattice and found your web site. Grandmother Mattice was married to my
Grandfather, Charles Abraham Waldriff. In looking over the genealogy
on Mary Margaret Waldriff, I see several names that I've come across in
my genealogy search. Can I assume the empty spots for dates or
whaterver indicates missing or unknown information? I can't seem to do
a print of your genealogy but I will certainly look through some of my
research to see if I have anything that might be useful.
To begin with, I don't think we knew about Mary Margaret. My sister is
assisting with this research. She is someone we will have to add to
the database.
Do you have any other information on Ellen Brownell Mattice? Maybe I
haven't found it yet if its in your listing.

Hello!
Firstly, I must say how much I love the updated site. I have been pointing
people to this site for quite a while.
I am looking for a Nancy Mattice who married a John Loucks. They had a son,
Elisha Fox Loucks, in 1807, in Osnabruck, Stormont, Ontario. Could this
Nancy be the daughter of Adam Mattice and Anna Swart? If not, who is she?
Maybe someone onut there in Mattice-land can help me.
I am also working on these names from that area: Pillar, Fetterly, Riddell,
Rupert, Loucks, and Mattice.
Also, is there anyone who has, and would be willing to provide copies of the
documentation for all or any of these Mattices? (Or help me to find it.)
Finally, when I can pinpoint this Nancy Mattice, I will gladly provide a
line from her to my children.

Hi Dave
Thanks for getting back to me, so quickly. I have responded to some
other sites and not heard anything, at all. Thanks again!
I do have quite a bit of info on the Crowder Loyalists, but I am working
on confirming my information. I would like it to be as accurate, as
possible, before sharing it on a web site. I'm sure you can understand
that.
Anyway, I can tell you that on the Brighton Township Census (lot 6,
concession 5), for 1861, John was ae 65, which confirms what we believe
the year that he was born (1796, Osnabruck Twp). Elizabeth was then
52. There were children, at home, Cyrus 27, Solomon (Sol) 21, Hester
18, Almira 15. There were four older siblings that had already moved
and started families of their own and they were Leroy, Sarah, William
George, and Francis. Because there is a considerable space between
Cyrus and Solomon, there may have been more births. Almira was the only
child still at home in 1871. Anyway, John died c1873 and Elizabeth
c1881. They are said to be buried in Eddystone Cemetery, Haldimand
Twp. A grandson, William (youngest child of William George Crowder, who
died in infancy), is also said to be buried in Eddystone, with his
grandparents) That is one of the cemetery transcriptions that I do not
own, so far, anyway!

I'm trying to find who the first Mattice was to join the Church of Jesus
Christ of Latter Day Saints.
My line shows that maybe Peter Mattice was the first but I'm not sure, his
wife was Margaret Ault and then Elizebeth York.
If anyone knows e-mail me.
Also I have a copy of the Mattice book by Rex Mattice but i don't know where
he lives or where you can get one. My brother got me this one.
